New IPBES report on Biodiversity and ecosystem services in Europe and Central Asia

More than 120 leading international scientists and other experts from 36 countries have developed the IPBES report on biodiversity and ecosystem services in Europe and Central Asia over a period of three years. At the sixth IPBES plenary session (March 18-24, 2018, Medellín, Colombia), the report and its almost 50-page summary were adopted for decision-makers.

With the help of the national IPBES authors Prof. Markus Fischer (co-chair of the report), Prof. Irene Ring (coordinating lead author of chapter 6 of the report), Dr. Jennifer Hauck (Coordinating Lead Authors of Chapter 5 of the Report) and support from Dr. Corinna Hölzer of the Foundation Human and Environment key findings and facts from the report were summarized. In particular, relevant options for action for actors in Germany are shown.
